Up until 20 years ago, imagining the web as we experience it today, close, safe, fast, was almost science fiction, the web was something that could only be seen in Hollywood films and almost always under threatening aspects, in which the hero of the moment he tried to save humanity. Like the famous Skynet from Terminator, nothing but the internet with a life of its own.
The future? Nowadays the future that we don't even imagine is already tomorrow! If it took 20 years to go from Postalmarket to the WEB, it could only take 20 minutes to go from the WEB to who knows what.
But essentially nothing will change, except trends, the taste for online shopping and current fashions.
